• Use tarps to cover skylight damage to prevent water leaks.

4. Choose a Trusted Roofing Company

• Make sure they are licensed and insured.

• Check their Google reviews.

• Beware of out-of-state storm chasers offering quick repairs. Verify they are local so they are available for future services!

• Hot tip- If their truck license plate is not from Colorado, they are not local.

• Have your roof inspected. Request pictures and video of damage.

5. Contact Your Insurance Company

• Report damage as soon as possible and start the claims process.

• Hot Tip- Write down your claim number when you initially file your claim! There may be lag time before you receive it from them in a document.

• Don’t meet with the claims adjuster on your own. Your trusted roofer should be present to ensure that all damage is included in the repair estimate.

• Provide photos, videos, and a list of damaged items.

• Keep a record of all communication with the insurance company.
